Biography

Mr. Primeau, who has been with Desjardins Securities since 2002, has more than 25 years’ experience in the securities field. Currently a portfolio manager, he has been designated a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®) and has taken the Institute’s courses on options trading and investment management.

Mission

Helping my clients raise their chances of success in managing their assets by establishing their financial needs and expectations by means of a customized investment policy statement that determines asset allocation. Managing each portfolio actively with a follow-up process and a communications plan.

Wealth creation, like wine-making, takes time. Our investment philosophy sets out a long-term approach aimed at targeting companies that, like fine vintages, will improve over time.

An investment policy statement, outlining the commitments between advisor and client, along with the investment goals, and presenting an overview of the recommended portfolio
A transaction record for each trade, including details (the stock and its price and weighting), company profile, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and stock chart
A monthly Info-Portfolio, including the financial results of certain stocks in the portfolio
A quarterly summary, including comments on the financial markets and the recommended portfolio strategy, in an easy-to-read format.

Mr. Otis holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a finance major from HEC Montréal. He has also obtained a technical certificate in business management. He is a Level 3 candidate for designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst. He worked in the Desjardins Caisse network before joining at Desjardins Securities.

Business Transfer Coach

Alain Chevalier has over 45 years of experience in the banking industry. He has held different positions within companies involved in financial planning and advisory services.

By drawing on a coaching approach, he has been able to give a human dimension to his financial planning knowledge, and he has supported more than 1,000 business owners reflect on and carry out their plans to transfer or sell their business. Positioning himself as a coach, he works to ensure that all parties involved can collaborate to achieve a common goal.

Hany Malek has a master's degree in management from the Institut Supérieur Européen de Gestion in Strasbourg (2003) and has graduated from the Institut québecois de planification financière (IQPF). He's been working in the financial industry for 20 years, including nearly 18 years as a financial planner in wealth management. He uses a rigorous and high-quality approach to help clients reach their financial goals.

Claude has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including several years with Desjardins Securities Financial Services. He holds a degree from HEC Montréal in business management and Université Laval in financial planning. As a financial security advisor, he's also a certified financial planner and life and health insurer. Early on, he focused his professional practice on identifying the financial needs of high-net-worth clients and mastering the tools to solve estate problems.
Mathieu Pelletier,

Senior Tax Advisor

Mathieu has a master's degree in taxation and has been working as a tax specialist since 2016. This was a new chapter in his career, as in 2015 he began studying to specialize in this field following a 7-year stint with Desjardins as a financial planner. Prior to working at Desjardins, he worked in life and health insurance.

As a tax specialist, Mathieu has helped business owners with every aspect of their business journey, from the earliest stages to the end of their career, including the sale or transfer of their business. Since moving to the financial services industry, Mathieu has been assisting a wide range of members who are preparing for retirement or are retired.
